released in the spring of 2011, comes from old vines. The vineyard is, in fact, the oldest continuously producing vinifera
vineyard in the Monticello AVA. Utilizing old French Oak cooperage, the oaking is minimal, allowing interesting citrus effects.
This wine demonstrates that Virginia's wine industry is among the country's best in producing classic European varietals."

The 2008 Montdomaine Merlot is made in a less
tanic right-bank Bordeaux style. The wine is composed of 80% old-vine Merlot and 20% old-vine Cabernet Sauvignon. The style
chosen was an accessible "minimalist" style. It has an exceptional bouquet with a finish of herbs,
